Chhetrapati Chowk
Chhetrapati Chowk is one of the oldest junction with famous religious and social round safe shelter where as traveler and pilgrims used to spend night and cooking self but now it is not existing any more this traditional system. It is located South-West of Thamel and gate way to Monkey Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square from Thamel and the six streets merge at The Chhetrapati Chowk coming from Asan, Thamel, Sorrakhutte, Dhobichour,Dhalko and Basantapur. There are also unmanageable of electric wire roundabout ancient shelter in the center of the junction. It is one of the crowed place in the oldest area of Kathmandu.

Katheshyambhu Stupa
Kaathe swyambhu Stupa (Shree Gha Chaitya) is also call (Kashi Swayambhu). It is the 3nd biggest Buddhist Temple in Kathmandu valley which is located 500 m South of Thamel. It was built in 1552 AD. during Malla Period and known as replica of Shyambhunath Stupa ( monkey temple) This Stupa has surrounded by three different Tibetan, Traditional Newari and Bajra Monastery, Buddhist Bhihar, handicraft shops, public school and so many spiritual sign and symbol with beautiful stone carving on the Chorten. There are pink rob Nuns living in the Newari Monastery and everyday morning and evening they do praying with chanting and music, likewise in Tibetan Monastery there are Red Rob Monks who follow Tibetan Buddhism and keep praying with music morning and evening. Bangemuda
Bangemuda is the another popular places in oldest part of Kathmandu where you can see 1400 years old Shiva Temple, Sarashowati Temple, Bishnu Temple and other various spiritual sign and symbol around this areas. Around there are some public areas where many potters and local people selling some handicraft, vegetable, fruit and sunbathing . Also you can see the shrine God of Teeth nailing coin and offering cotten to get ride from teeth problem. There are lots of dental shops around Bangemuda so if people has teeth problem then They visit first dental clinic, if they don’t get well then again they go to this shrine belived that their teeth will get well after visiting to the dental deity.
Asan Bazar
Asan Bazar is the oldest marketplace of Kathmandu where you can have real test of Nepal after visiting in this place. This is the most well-known cermonial cultural focal point of Kathmandu Valley as well. It is politically and economically strategic location of Nepal from ancient time because it was central trade route between India and Tibet. Even now this Asan Bazaar is equally popular for sale and buy necessary local product from all over the Nepal. where, people bring their product sale and buy their necessary things because there are various things sale and buy Like: vegetable, fruit, food, ritual things, every thing can be available that is why this market is more popular. White Machhendranath Temple
The White Machhendranath Temple is also known as Janabahal locally. It located between Asan and Indra Chowk at Keltole. This is a beautiful Pagoda style Temple shrounded by lots of tiny Stupa and Temple, decorated with lot of Hindu and Buddhist sign and symbol. This Temple is worship by both Hindu and Buddhist, trusting as part of Shiva in Hindu and Buddhist say White Tara ( she has 108 menifestation Avakokeshora daity of compassion. female energy known as in Himalayan Buddhism and locally known as diety of raining and agriculture. Kathmandu Durbar Square has very important role in political, historical, cultural and religious aspect of Nepal. This Durbar has been devied in to two parts ,outside the palace and inside the palace. There are museum, nine different country yard very beautiful building, Temple decorated with amazing wood carving related with cultural and religious aspect of ancient life. Freak Street
During 1970 so many western hippies used to come to Nepal and they like to stay South of Kathmandu Durbar Square because there are normal street with local restaurants and bar where they could get drugs, liqueurs freely in cheap price then so many hippies pour down this area and they popularised this streets Freak Streets in American style but after 1990 the Nepal government made a law using drugs and liquor the the touristic market moved to Thamel and the Freak Street become normal street with local market and with some old fession restaurant and bar are running by locals.
Naradevi
Nara Devi Temple: is on the busy street between Chhetrapati and Durbar Square which is one of the semi-human form of Kali, also known as white Kali and consort of Shiva. Across the road there is a small platform where every 12 years proforma her dance to make her happy and empower her to protect from disaster and Local believed that she protect people from 1934 and 2015 earthquake .This is very beautiful Pagoda style Temple decorated with beautiful carving on wood and metal.
Shyambhunath Stupa
Shyambhunath Stupa is Located 3 km West of Thamel, open the scenic hill with green forest and thousand of monkeys are living there. The architecture of Shyambhunath is maintaining the prime glories of Kathmandu valley which representing the all technic of all dynasty and culture. The entire structure of the Stupa and Chorten are very symbolic and vast. This Stupa has white dome from surface and circulating player wheel and statues of five Dhyani Buddha, five different quality of Buddha and their consort Tara (Buddha shakti- femal energy). Above the Dome there are symbol looks like question mark is call all seeing Buddha’s important eyes. and above eyes there are 13 stage of nirvana. Bijeshori Temple
Bijeshwori Temple is located West bank of Bishnumati river and on the way to Shyambhunath Stupa which is dedicated to Vajrayana Buddhist Deity. It is desined with Nepari Pagods style with full of beautiful sign and symbol depicting about both Hindu and Buddhist Tantra and Mantra. This Temple is more important Vijrayana Buddhist of Tibet and they also call her Goddess of energy Tara and Hindu call Guyashwori the counterpart of Shiva this is why there are harmonious beauty between two different sect Hindu and Buddhist. Both Hindu and Buddhist go for praying to bring the good luck and clean their sin. There are so many carving on wall and Chaitya at the country yard of the Temple.
Shovabhagabati Temple
Shovabhagati Temple is located west bank of Bishnumati River near by Bijeshwori which is dedicated to Kali and one of the most famous Shakti Peeth in Kathmandu. During Dasian festival ,Thousand of pilgrims homage her to positive energy to get happiness, brotherhood and success in life we pray for 9 different goddess in different time and work to get ride from different problem.
Indrani Temple
Indrani Temple is located East bank of Bishumati river at Dhalko bridge, which is surrounded by cremation Ghats and other related sacred shrines. It is Pagoda style Newari Temple which is dedicated to tantric Goddess Durga goddess of positive energy. if you are lucky you can see dead body cremated with following their ritual.
